How To Patent Your Inventions

Each day, people are faced with things that seem impossible to solve. From the uncomplicated things like, something to hold the door out when you have to carry heavy stuff inside the house, or something which could help you feed your baby when she is throwing a fit and throws her feeding bowl filled with cereal on the floor. There are problems which people have difficulty solving because they do not know that they have that problem. It is best to find solutions for those as well.

There are many complicated things in this world. But the mind is such a great thing because it can constantly find solutions to everyday problems. This leads to new solutions, we call them inventions. Inventors are regular people who spend time studying how things work and innovate something to make it work faster and better. That leads to innovations and discoveries.. Having an invention which you can profit from requires utility. It must be something ordinary people can use in their day to day life. If such is the case, people would buy your invention and you will profit hugely from it. But is needs to be patented first.

For patent purposes, your invention idea must be unique. Uniqueness means that your invention shold not be a bastardized version of a previous invention. If you have, it must serve a purpose other than that of the previous invention, or else, it will not be patentable. New inventions, in order to be pantented should be made into a prototype, not just an idea.

It is also essential for the inventor to hire a patent attorney to write his patent application and explain, in legal terms why the invention is patentable. This is necessary because many inventions get denied because it is not patentable. In this aspect, the lawyer's services will be needed. He will apply for you and argue for you if the need arises. Getting a specialized design studio to put your idea into 3D format or 3D animation will make your invention more understandable. The patent officer needs to understand the ins and outs of your invention. 3D animation will emphasize the special features of your inventions and can easily show the benefits of your inventions.

When the patent officer grants you a patent, your invention will then be in a patent pending status. This is a state where you solely get the royalties for the use of your invention. Infringers of your invention will be held civilly liable for economic damage. But after 20 years or more, your patent becomes public property and may be unconditionally copied and reproduced.
